Short answer: When an IFB front-loader won't start, the usual causes are the child lock being on, the door not fully latched, the door lock failing to engage, no water supply, or a power or board fault. If the display lights up, check the child lock and door first. If nothing lights up at all, check the socket and plug, then call a technician for the power supply or board.
If the Display Lights Up but Nothing Happens
Child lock: many IFB models use a two-button combination. Check your manual.
Door: open and close it firmly. Clothes caught in the gasket stop it latching.
Start/pause and delay settings: make sure no delay start is set.
Water supply: tap open, hose not kinked. Some models won't proceed without water.
Door lock: if you never hear the click of the lock engaging, the lock assembly may have failed.
If Nothing Lights Up
Test the socket with another appliance and check the plug fuse and the MCB. If power is fine, the power section of the control board or the main switch has likely failed, often after a voltage surge. That's a technician's job.
My IFB starts, then stops after a few minutes. Why?
Often a water inlet problem, a heater fault on hot programmes, or a door lock losing contact.
