Godrej was one of the first Indian brands to sell ACs using R290, a natural refrigerant with a very low global-warming impact. Many Godrej ACs use it. R290 is propane-based and flammable, so leak repair and gas charging on these units must be done carefully, with proper tools and ventilation. It's one reason it pays to know what's in your AC before anyone works on it.

Can any technician refill R290?
Only with the right gas, tools and safety practice. Never let anyone mix a different refrigerant into an R290 AC.
