Your fridge is the only appliance in the house that never gets a day off. It runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, through 45-degree afternoons, power cuts and monsoon humidity. And most fridges in Vijayawada have never had a single check-up until the day they stop cooling.
A yearly service changes that. It costs a fraction of a repair, it lowers your power bill, and it catches the small faults, a weakening relay, a tired gasket, a choked drain, before they leave you with a warm fridge full of food. Fridge already not cooling? See refrigerator repair
What Our Fridge Service Covers
Cleaning
- Condenser coil: the grille at the back or underneath, where dust and cobwebs pile up. A choked condenser makes the compressor run longer and hotter. This alone often brings a noticeable drop in electricity use.
- Condenser fan (on models that have one) cleaned and checked
- Defrost drain flushed, so water stops pooling under the vegetable tray or on the floor
- Drain pan under the fridge cleaned of sludge and smell
- Door gaskets cleaned of mould and sticky residue
Checks and Tests
- Door gasket seal tested along the full length (the paper test, done properly)
- Thermostat or sensor response checked against actual temperatures
- Compressor running current measured and starting relay tested
- Evaporator fan and defrost heater checked on frost-free models
- Door alignment and hinges checked
- Interior and freezer temperatures recorded before and after
- Power cord, plug and socket checked for heat damage
If we find a part that's on its way out, you'll get a quote and a straight answer about how urgent it is. Nothing is replaced without your approval.
Why It Matters More in Vijayawada
Hot kitchens make fridges work harder. A compressor that runs comfortably at 30°C ambient has far less headroom at 40°C, so a dirty condenser that wouldn't matter in a cooler city can tip a Vijayawada fridge into poor cooling in May.
Voltage is the other factor. Repeated dips and surges wear starting relays, overload protectors and inverter boards. Our service includes checking these, and we'll advise on a stabiliser if your area needs one.
When to Book a Service
- Once a year, ideally in February or March before summer
- Sooner if the fridge is in a hot kitchen, a closed cabinet or near a stove
- Right away if you notice the compressor running much longer than usual, frost building on the back wall, water under the crisper, a weak door seal or a higher power bill
Things You Can Do Between Services
- Keep 10 cm of space behind and beside the fridge
- Don't put hot food straight in; let it cool first
- Keep the freezer from becoming an iceberg on direct-cool models; defrost when ice is about 5 mm thick
- Wipe the gaskets with mild soapy water monthly
- Don't overload: cold air needs room to circulate
Charges and Questions
A refrigerator service costs ₹500 – ₹800 for single-door and double-door models and ₹800 – ₹1,200 for side-by-side models . Parts or repairs found during the service are quoted separately. See refrigerator repair charges
Do I need to empty the fridge for a service?
No. We may need to pull it forward from the wall, so clear the space around it. The fridge stays on for most of the visit.
Does a service include gas charging?
No. A healthy fridge never needs gas. If our tests suggest low gas, that means a leak, which we'll explain and quote separately. Why gas charging needs leak repair first
How long does it take?
Around an hour for most fridges.
Do you service all brands?
Yes: LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Godrej, Haier, Bosch, Panasonic and every other major brand. We're an independent multi-brand service.
