Inverter ACs are brilliant when they work. They cool the room quickly, then slow the compressor down to hold the temperature steadily, using far less electricity than the old on-off models. But they're also full of electronics: an inverter board in the outdoor unit, a control board indoors, BLDC fan motors, several temperature sensors, and a communication line linking it all.
That means inverter faults need a technician who reads the AC's own diagnostics, tests circuits properly, and doesn't simply swap expensive boards until the problem goes away. All AC repairs
Inverter AC Problems We Diagnose and Fix
Error Codes and Blinking Lights
Every brand has its own fault language. LG shows CH codes on the display. Daikin uses letter-number codes such as U4 or E7. Samsung, Voltas, Blue Star and Panasonic have their own sets. Hitachi and some others blink the timer or operation lamp in patterns. A code points to a circuit, perhaps a sensor, a fan motor, the compressor drive or a communication fault, and then our technician confirms with measurements.
Send us the code and model number on WhatsApp before the visit. It often lets us bring the right part the first time.
Cools, Then Stops After a While
Typically an overheating outdoor unit (dirty condenser, blocked airflow, failing outdoor fan), a faulty sensor giving false readings, low gas from a slow leak, or voltage dropping below what the inverter board accepts.
Not Cooling Even at High Fan
Outdoor unit not starting because of an inverter board fault, a compressor drive fault or a communication error, or simply low refrigerant. We test which before quoting.
Indoor or Outdoor Fan Not Running
Inverter ACs use BLDC fan motors controlled by the board. Either the motor or its driver on the board has failed. We test both.
AC Trips the MCB at Start
A shorted component on the inverter board, a compressor winding fault, or undersized wiring. Needs careful testing; don't keep resetting the breaker.
Communication Error
The indoor and outdoor boards can't talk. Causes include a loose or corroded connection in the interconnecting cable, water ingress at the outdoor terminal block, or a failed board.
Why Inverter Boards Fail in Vijayawada, and What Helps
Three local culprits do most of the damage: voltage spikes when power returns after a cut, heat on outdoor units sitting in direct afternoon sun, and moisture during the monsoon reaching outdoor terminals and boards.
When a board fails, we check whether a component-level repair is reliable. Often it is, and it costs much less than a new board. When replacement is needed, we source the correct board for your model, usually within two to four working days for major brands.
To protect your AC: use a stabiliser rated for your inverter AC (or check your AC's stated voltage range), shade the outdoor unit without blocking airflow, and keep the outdoor terminal cover sealed. Inverter AC problems explained
Costs
Typical inverter AC repairs : sensor ₹600 – ₹1,200, BLDC fan motor ₹2,500 – ₹5,000, indoor PCB repair ₹1,500 – ₹3,500, outdoor inverter PCB repair ₹2,500 – ₹5,000, PCB replacement ₹4,000 – ₹12,000, gas leak repair and refill ₹2,500 – ₹4,500. All AC charges
Questions
Is inverter AC repair more expensive?
Electronic parts cost more, but many faults are sensors or connections, which are inexpensive. Careful diagnosis keeps costs down.
Can you repair a board rather than replace it?
Often, yes. AC PCB repair
Which brands do you handle?
All major inverter brands, including Daikin, LG, Samsung, Voltas, Hitachi and Panasonic. We're independent, not a brand's authorised centre.
