Your AC hasn't broken down. It just isn't what it was. The room takes longer to cool, the remote creeps down from 24 to 20, and the electricity bill for April looks suspiciously like last May's.
That slow slide is almost always dirt. Vijayawada's dust, pollen and traffic grime settle on the filters and coils of every AC in the city, and a coated coil can't move heat. A proper service clears it, and in our experience gives back a fifth or more of the cooling you've quietly lost.
What Our AC Service Actually Includes
Ask five people what an "AC service" is and you'll get five answers, from a quick filter wash to a full jet clean. Here's exactly what you get from us, so you can compare fairly.
Indoor Unit
- Filters removed, washed and dried
- Evaporator coil cleaned with a pressure jet and coil cleaner, with a drain bag fitted so nothing reaches your wall or floor
- Blower wheel cleaned, which is where most of the musty smell lives
- Drain tray and drain pipe flushed so water flows away properly
- Louvres, swing motor and front panel checked and wiped
Outdoor Unit
- Condenser coil jet-washed from the inside out
- Fan blade cleaned and fan motor checked for noise and speed
- Electrical connections checked and tightened
- Capacitor and contactor tested, with a heads-up if either is weakening
Performance Check
- Running current measured against the rated value
- Gas pressure checked on the service valve
- Vent temperature measured after the service, so you can see the difference in numbers
- Remote, display and modes tested
If anything needs repair, you'll get a quote before we touch it. If nothing does, you'll simply get a cleaner, colder AC. We never upsell a gas top-up during a service: if the pressure is low, we'll explain that it means a leak and give you options. Why gas refills without leak repair waste money
Split AC Service vs Window AC Service
A split AC service covers both units and is done on the wall, without taking the indoor unit down. A window AC is usually slid out of its frame and cleaned more thoroughly as a single unit. Both take 45 to 90 minutes per AC. Cassette and ductable units in offices take longer and are covered on our commercial AC service page.
How Often Should You Service an AC in Vijayawada?
More often than the brochure suggests, because the brochure wasn't written for a city where the AC runs eight months of the year.
Our Recommendation
- Full service: twice a year for ACs used daily, once in February or March before the heat and once in September or October after the monsoon
- Filter cleaning: every two to three weeks during summer, which you can do yourself in five minutes
- Homes near main roads or construction: consider a mid-summer service too, since outdoor coils clog fast

Signs Your AC Needs a Service Now
- Cooling takes noticeably longer than last year
- A musty or damp smell when it starts
- Water dripping from the indoor unit
- The outdoor unit sounds louder or runs constantly
- Ice on the copper pipes or indoor coil
- Your power bill has jumped without a change in use
Any of those sound familiar? A service usually fixes the first four outright.
Beat the Summer Rush
From April onwards, every AC technician in Vijayawada is booked solid. Book your service in February or March and you'll get the time slot you want, a technician who isn't rushing, and an AC that's ready on the first hot day. Our pre-summer AC checklist

AC Service FAQs
How long does an AC service take?
About an hour for a split AC and a little longer for a deep chemical clean. Three ACs at one home usually take two and a half to three hours.
Will the service make a mess?
No. We fit a waterproof service bag around the indoor unit and cover the floor. The dirty water runs into a bucket, and we clean up before we leave.
Does AC service include gas filling?
No, and it shouldn't. We check the gas pressure during every service. If it's low, that means a leak, which we'll explain and quote separately.
Can I clean my AC filters myself?
Yes, and you should, every two to three weeks in summer. Switch off, lift the front panel, slide out the filters, rinse under a tap, dry in the shade and refit. Leave the coil and outdoor unit to a technician.
Is a wet service better than a dry service?
Yes. A dry service only cleans filters and wipes surfaces. A wet jet service washes the coils themselves, which is where the cooling is lost.
