We are an independent repair service and are not affiliated with or authorised by IFB Industries.
For many Indian families, IFB was the first front-loader in the house. The company built its name on front-load machines long before they were common here, and many IFB models come with an in-built heater for hot washes. Senator, Executive, Elena, Diva: if you own one, you probably chose it because it washes clothes properly and treats them gently.
IFB machines are well engineered, but the heater, door lock and drain pump take a beating, especially in hard-water parts of Vijayawada. We repair IFB front-loaders and top-loaders at home across the city. All washing machine repairs
The IFB Faults We Fix Most Often
Machine Not Starting
Lights come on but the programme won't begin, or nothing lights up at all. We work through it in order: child lock (on many IFB models this is a key combination, so check your manual), door not fully latched, door lock assembly, water supply, then the power supply section of the board. Door Locked After the Cycle
IFB doors stay locked while there's water inside or the drum is still hot. Wait a couple of minutes after the cycle. If it still won't open and the drum is empty, the door lock or its signal from the board has failed. Please don't force the handle.
Not Heating Water
IFB's in-built heaters make hot washes possible, but scale from hard water coats the element and eventually burns it out. A failed heater or temperature sensor means cold washes on every programme, and on some models a long stall mid-cycle. We replace the element and descale the drum so the new one lasts.
Not Draining
The filter behind the bottom-front cover catches coins, buttons and hair clips. Clear it carefully with a tray underneath. If it's clear and water still won't go, the drain pump has jammed or failed.
Noisy Spin and Shaking
On older IFB front-loaders, a growl during spin points to drum bearings. Heavy shaking can be the shock absorbers. And if your IFB is brand new and violently noisy, check that the transit bolts were removed at installation.
Error Messages
IFB displays show warnings for door, water supply and drain problems, and some models show codes for heater and motor faults. Exact messages vary by model, so send a photo of the display and the model number to +91 00000 00000.
How We Repair IFB Machines
We test the door lock, heater, sensors, pump and motor individually before replacing anything. Door locks, drain pumps, inlet valves and common heater elements are carried for popular IFB models. Boards and bearings for specific models may take a day or two to source.
IFB Care Tips for Vijayawada
- Descale every six months in borewell-water homes to protect the heater
- Use low-foam front-load detergent, and less than the box suggests
- Clean the drain filter monthly
- Leave the door ajar after washing to dry the gasket
- Use hot programmes only when needed; they're the heater's hardest work
