Your washing machine still works. It fills, spins and drains. So why do the white shirts look a little grey, and why does the towel you just washed smell faintly of a damp cupboard?
Because what you can't see is doing the damage. Behind the drum, every washing machine collects a layer of detergent residue, fabric softener, lint and, in much of Vijayawada, hard-water scale. What a Full Washing Machine Service Includes
We don't do a quick wipe and a spray. A full service is about an hour and a half of real work, and it covers the parts that matter.
Cleaning
- Drum and tub descaling with a machine-safe descaler, run through a hot or long cycle
- Outer tub flush to remove the black sludge that builds up between drum and tub
- Drain filter and pump opened and cleared of lint, coins, hair clips and buttons
- Inlet mesh filters cleaned, since a clogged mesh is the top cause of "water not filling" errors
- Door gasket cleaned of mould and trapped water on front-loaders
- Detergent drawer and its housing removed and cleaned
Checks
- Drive belt tension and wear on belt-driven machines
- Drum play and bearing noise
- Suspension springs and dampers
- Hoses, clamps and connections for cracks or seepage
- Door lock and lid switch operation
- Levelling, so the machine stops walking across the floor
- A full test cycle, with any developing fault explained and quoted separately

Hard Water and Scale
Homes on borewell supply, common in Poranki, Penamaluru, Tadigadapa, Gollapudi and many newer layouts, often have hard water. Scale builds on the heating element of front-loaders, making it work harder and fail sooner. It also stiffens fabric and dulls whites. Descaling every six months makes a visible difference.
Detergent Overdose
Most of us use too much detergent. The surplus doesn't rinse away; it sticks to the outer tub and feeds the grey sludge that causes smells. If your machine smells after a wash, this is almost always the reason.
How Often to Book a Service
- Front-load machines: every 6 months if used daily, otherwise yearly
- Top-load fully automatic: every 8 to 12 months
- Semi-automatic: yearly, mainly to check the spin seal and motor
- Hard-water homes: add a descaling clean every 6 months regardless of type

Signs Your Machine Needs a Service Now

Do I need to empty the machine before you arrive?
Yes, please remove any clothes and keep the area around the machine clear. If it's in a tight balcony corner, we may need to pull it forward.
Can't I just run a tub-clean cycle?
It helps, and you should run one monthly. But it doesn't reach the pump, the inlet mesh or the sludge between tub and drum, and it doesn't check anything.
Will servicing fix the smell?
In almost every case, yes. If the smell returns quickly, we'll look at your detergent dose and how the door is left after washing.
