Hitachi ACs have a reputation for strong cooling and solid build, and many Vijayawada homes run one for a decade or more. Instead of showing a code on a display, many Hitachi indoor units report faults by blinking the timer lamp in a pattern: a number of blinks, a pause, then repeat. The count tells a technician which circuit to test.
Hitachi Faults We Fix
- Timer lamp blinking: count the blinks between pauses and send us the number with your model to +91 00000 00000. Common causes are sensor faults, communication problems between units, fan motor faults and protection trips.
- Cooling then cutting off: outdoor unit overheating from a dirty condenser, a weak outdoor fan, or low gas
- Not cooling: capacitor on fixed-speed models; inverter board or compressor drive on inverter models
- Water leaks indoors: drain blockage or slope
- Window AC faults: capacitor, thermostat, fan motor

My Hitachi blinks but still cools a little. Is it urgent?
The AC is protecting itself. Book a check soon; running it in protection mode can make the underlying fault worse.
