LG sells more washing machines in India than almost anyone, and walk into any apartment block in Patamata or Kanuru and you'll find a few. They're well built, especially the front-loaders with LG's Inverter Direct Drive motor, which bolts straight onto the drum with no belt to wear out. That design is quiet and long-lasting. It also fails in its own particular ways, and knowing those ways is what gets an LG fixed in one visit.

What Goes Wrong With LG Washing Machines
The Codes You're Most Likely to See
LG machines are good at telling you what's wrong. The common codes:
- OE: water isn't draining. Usually a blocked drain filter (bottom-front flap on front-loaders), a kinked hose or a jammed or failed drain pump.
- IE: water isn't coming in fast enough. Check the tap is fully open, then the inlet mesh. If both are fine, the inlet valve or pressure sensor is suspect.
- UE: the load is unbalanced. Rearrange it. If it keeps appearing with normal loads, the suspension dampers or motor sensor need checking.
- dE / dE1 / dE2: door not locking. Close it firmly. A repeated dE means the door lock assembly or its wiring.
- LE: the motor is locked or overloaded. Often an overloaded drum or a foreign object; otherwise the rotor, stator or Hall sensor.
- PE: water level sensor fault. tE: heater or temperature sensor fault. FE: too much water, often an inlet valve stuck open.
- CL: not a fault. Child lock is on. Press and hold the child lock button (check your model's manual for the combination).
Codes vary slightly by model and year. Send your code and model number to +91 00000 00000 and we'll tell you what it means for your machine.
Direct Drive Motor Faults
The Direct Drive system has three parts we test individually: the rotor (the magnet ring on the drum shaft), the stator (the copper windings behind it) and the Hall sensor that tells the board where the rotor is. A failed Hall sensor is common and inexpensive, and its symptoms, a drum that jerks, won't spin or throws an LE code, are often mistaken for a dead motor. Stator windings can short after water leaks or voltage surges.
Top-Load Problems
LG's fully automatic top-loaders, including TurboDrum and Smart Inverter models, most often come to us with a pulsator that won't turn, water not filling, slow draining or noisy spinning. Inverter top-loaders use a direct-drive style motor too, while older models may have a belt and clutch.
Front-Load Bearings and Leaks
On older LG front-loaders, a loud roar during spin means worn drum bearings, usually after the oil seal let water through. Leaks at the front are almost always the door gasket.
How We Fix Your LG at Home
Our technician reads the code, runs the machine's own test where available, then confirms with measurements before replacing anything. We carry drain pumps, inlet valves, door locks and Hall sensors that fit popular LG models. Rotor, stator and PCB replacements for specific models may need a day or two to source.
After the repair, we run a full cycle in front of you and leave you with a [WARRANTY_DAYS]-day warranty on our labour and fitted parts.
LG-Specific Care Tips
- Clean the drain filter monthly; most OE codes start there
- Run Tub Clean once a month, with no clothes and no detergent (or a tub cleaner)
- Leave the door open after use so the gasket dries
- Use front-load detergent in front-loaders; regular powder over-foams and confuses the sensors
- In areas with frequent voltage dips, use a stabiliser; LG boards and motors last much longer with one

Questions
My LG shows OE but the filter is clean. What now?
The drain pump has likely jammed or failed, or the hose is blocked further down. It's a quick repair. Drain troubleshooting
Is LG's Direct Drive motor repairable?
Yes. The Hall sensor, stator and rotor are replaced separately, so you rarely need a full motor.
Should I go to LG instead?
If your machine is still under LG's warranty, yes. Many LG front-loaders carry a long motor warranty too, so check your card. After that, we're usually quicker and more affordable.
